John Monnecka offers up a total package rarely seen among contemporary singer/songwriters. As technically skilled a guitarist and musical arranger as any great in the business, his edgy and soulful, baritone vocals may arguably be richer. And then there’s the passion. From his smouldering, blues-infused, acoustic guitar work lasting up to four hours without a break, to the most gut-wrenching love song poured out as though a private confession, it is John Monnecka’s passion as a live performer which defines the core of his music. And it is precisely this element which eludes capture by any studio recording, however well produced.

   Four generations of Maggie Moore's have inspired a legacy and the reason for owners Neville and Vera Gibson to honor that name at their Lincoln Park restaurant.

   In addition to the name, food and atmosphere at Maggie Moore's can also revel in the down-home Irish cuisine of Gibson's ancestry.

"My great, great, great grandmother passed down the recipes and my mom would make them for our family and now I have put these great recipes on my menu at the restaurant in her honor."
